Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the post, meet the minimum eligibility criteria like nationality and age as well as qualification.
- Nationality/Citizenship Criteria
A candidate must be either

A subject of Nepal, or

A subject of Bhutan, or

A Tibetan refugee

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia), or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note: Candidates fail in 2 to 5 categories in case of failure to submit a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India at the time of appointment.

The candidate must pass matriculation (10th class) from a recognized board, university, or institution. And there is no need for a minimum percentage required.

- Exam for both MTS & Havaldar.
- PET&PST only for Havaldar.
Exam pattern:
The computer-based exam is common for both MTS and Havaldar. In this exam there are two sessions; the first session is only for qualifying, and the second session is to meet the cut-off.
